CTS - Communicate Through Spelling Privacy Policy

At Autism is Biomedical, Inc. with CTS (Communicate Through Spelling), we are committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially children on the autism spectrum who may be nonverbal. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our iOS app ("App"). The App is designed to empower nonverbal individuals to communicate through spelling and typing in a supportive, distraction-free environment. We do not collect any personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable laws. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you are a parent or guardian, please review this policy carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect
We prioritize minimal data collection to respect user privacy. The App operates primarily on-device and does not require user accounts or online connectivity for core features.
 

• Non-Personal Information: We may automatically collect non-identifiable usage data, such as:

  • Device type, iOS version, and App version.

  • Aggregated usage statistics (e.g., session duration, feature interactions like keyboard customizations or game modes) to improve the App.

  • This data is anonymized and does not identify individual users.
     

• Personal Information: We do not collect personal information (e.g., names, email addresses, location, or typed content) unless voluntarily provided by an adult user (e.g., a parent or facilitator) for support inquiries via email. Typed communications within the App are processed locally on your device and are not stored or transmitted by us.
   

• No Data from Children: The App does not collect, store, or share any data entered by children, such as spelled words or sentences. All communication happens on-device and is not sent to our servers.
   

We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that could identify users.

2. How We Collect Information

• Directly from You: If you contact us (e.g., via email for support), we may receive information you provide.

• Automatically: Through device interactions, but only anonymized data as described above.

• No Third-Party Sources: We do not collect data from third parties.
   

3. How We Use Your Information
Any information we collect is used solely to:

• Provide and maintain the App's functionality (e.g., customizing letterboards, auditory feedback, or game modes).

• Improve the App based on aggregated, anonymous usage trends (e.g., enhancing motor skill games).

• Respond to support requests from parents or facilitators.

• Comply with legal obligations.
   

We do not use data for advertising, marketing, or any commercial purposes unrelated to the App.

4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties. Non-personal, anonymized data may be shared with:

• Service providers (e.g., Apple for App distribution) strictly for operational purposes.

• In response to legal requests (e.g., subpoenas) or to protect rights, safety, or property.
   

No data is shared for marketing or advertising.

5. Children's Privacy
CTS is designed for children, including those under 13. We comply with COPPA and do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent.

• Parents/guardians must supervise use and provide consent if any data is shared (e.g., for support).

• The App does not allow children to post content publicly or interact online.

• If we discover we have collected personal information from a child without consent, we will delete it immediately.

6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. However, no method is 100% secure. All user-generated content (e.g., spellings) remains on your device, we do not access or store it remotely.

7. Your Rights and Choices

• Access and Deletion: You can request access to or deletion of any data we hold by contacting us.

• Opt-Out: Since we collect minimal data, opt-out is not applicable, but you can uninstall the App to stop all collection.

• California Residents: Under CCPA, you have rights to know, delete, and opt-out of data sales (which we do not do).

• EU/UK Residents: Under GDPR, you have rights to access, rectify, erase, or restrict data processing.
   

8. International Data Transfers
The App is operated in the United States. Data may be processed where laws differ from your jurisdiction. We ensure appropriate safeguards for transfers.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be posted in the App or on our website [if applicable], with the effective date updated. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
